#MRDCAPERODD Guest Room with Serena & Lily

Excited to share a dream partnership with Serena & Lily that helped us complete our guest room at #mrdcaperodd. I’m a big S&L fan and I shopped a lot from them for our renovation and used their rugs, bedding, and lighting in other rooms as well.

The before was pretty terrifying with a wallpaper border, gross carpeting, and a glass block window to the garage behind the bed! Not to mention furniture that wasn’t exactly my taste. ;)

For the guest room we needed nightstands and lamps and I was very happy to find that these scalloped side table fit just right next to the bed. I love the unique scallop detail plus the wicker was the perfect texture to add to a beach house.

The Brighton table lamps have a smooth faux plaster texture and are also available with a wicker shade which is super cute. I stacked books underneath to give them a little more height and so you can fully see the bases above the scallop. It makes the room feel less “designed” and more eclectic which I love. I had already purchased the bed during a Serena & Lily sale but I love how the navy blue pops with the whites and tans.

The shelf underneath the tray top on the nightstands is also a great spot for guests to put toiletries, books, and other things they might bring with them. And in the case of young kids, a sound machine is a likely bet! One other point to note is that wicker furniture can sometimes feel wobbly but these tables are solid and sturdy, which when you’re furnishing a new home and having to purchase a lot of items all at one time, is really important.

Thank you Serena & Lily for partnering with me on this project!
